Whales of Stellwagon
Minke Whales & Fin Whales along with a mola mola and many different species of shearwater’s. It was stated we were in “whale soup” at one point by the guide with at least 5 separate fin whales feeding around our boat. You can see in some of the the photos a shot of the tail during a side lunge at the school of fish. Unlike in places like Hawaii where the whales are breaching, pec slapping, and on heat runs, our whales are in their feeding season instead of mating so they’re busy stuffing their mouths with as much as they can for the soon to come trip down south. Our whales we see here will end up somewhere like the Turks & Caicos to do their mating rituals where they will breach, pec slap and such.
