SoCal Sickness
Photos from Southern California, LA and San Diego in March 2026. I had a lot of diving planned and it was all going great until I went viral the old school way and caught a nasty cold. Took 2 weeks to get over, had to cancel 90% of my diving but I think it’s all finally cleared out.
I did manage to get into the water twice at La Jolla Cove, a great spot to dive, freedive or snorkel. Weather and sea state were prime, viz was spectacular the first afternoon I got in then good the next but shadowed by the overcast skies. Seas were nice and calm, minor south and southwest swell.
Shout out to my dive buddies and underwater models, Joy of AquaJoy and Hannah with Cane’ Chaser Fishing. We had lots of fun shooting some photos and Joy shot her first yellowtail later that afternoon. This was all while we were on the last day of the Pacific Coast Sportfishing (trade) Show with Hammerhead Spearguns, so in true Hammerhead style we brought a fresh fish right into the expo center, no more than an hour out of the water and did some gyotaku prints and sashimi for a spectacle to go out with a bang.
